For over two decades Atlantic Climbing School has been Maine’s premier climbing guide service, specializing in small, custom rock and ice climbing courses in Acadia National Park, Camden, Maine, and beyond. ACS is one of just 30 programs in the U.S. accredited by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). ALL of our staff are certified by the AMGA as either Rock Guides, Rock Instructors, or Single Pitch Instructors, and we are proud to be the ONLY guide service in Maine to have this distinction

Ted did a great job putting together a 2 day assessment at Acadia. He always maintains a very comfortable but high level of engagement with the entire group, and keeps an energy that does not fade for the all the days I have worked with him. (4 now) He is very clear in his instructions, great at walking the group through the 2 days of assessment, and builds a safe working environment where people can perform at a very high level because his qualities as a professional climber and his personality work to let people bring their best game for those days. Ryan was an amazing guide for our family (2 adults and 2 kids, age 11 and 13). He took his time explaining the equipment, safety rules, and climbing protocol. His demeanor put everyone at ease while building our excitement for the climbing adventure! We climbed at Otter Cliffs, starting at the top of a cliff which was a unique experience for us. The kids loved it, and it was great how Ryan encouraged them to solve the puzzle of where to find the best spots for their hands and feet as they climbed. I (mom) went next, and was terrified and intimidated the entire climb. Ryan was incredibly patient, encouraging, and positive which made it much better for me. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it to other adventurous families!
