Welcome to San Juan Expeditions the guide service of Silverton and Durango Colorado. As a year-round guide service, we offer our clients jaw-dropping climbing and trekking opportunities in the summer while our guided skiing, ice climbing, and avalanche education keep our guests busy in the winter. As the only year-round guide service headquartered in Silverton, we are uniquely qualified to share our world-class backyard with you, your friends, and your family. This course gave me the basics needed to understand how to Prepare, Plan, Ride Safely, and Debrief after a day out in the backcountry. I have a new appreciation of the risks (and rewards) of a well planned out trip. For sure I will need to practice what I have learned and continue my avalanche learning curriculum.

Did a half day rock climbing trip near the X rock with the family. It was the first time climbing outdoors and on an actual cliff face. Kam was an amazing guide - did a great job teaching us and picking out appropriate routes to climb for our skill level. Would definitely use them again!
