Welcome to San Juan Expeditions the guide service of Silverton and Durango Colorado. As a year-round guide service, we offer our clients jaw-dropping climbing and trekking opportunities in the summer while our guided skiing, ice climbing, and avalanche education keep our guests busy in the winter. As the only year-round guide service headquartered in Silverton, we are uniquely qualified to share our world-class backyard with you, your friends, and your family. Highly recommend San Juan Expeditions! Recently took my AIARE 1 as a hut trip and it was amazing!! Our guides, Chris and Jordan, are incredibly experienced, intelligent, and skilled backcountry tourers. I was highly impressed with their level of professionalism and knowledge; plus how well they taught and shared that background. This translated so well in the hut/classroom and in the field. They challenged us to think critically, engage in the curriculum, and support each other as we developed our skills. We spent the majority of the weekend in the field: touring, reading terrain and conditions/forecasts, and skiing! It was so fun being together all weekend, based out of the hut because it encouraged discussion and questions throughout the entire course. Always learning but also spending quality time in a beautiful place with amazing people. Thank you Jordan and Chris!! Would love to book another trip with you!
