Welcome to San Juan Expeditions the guide service of Silverton and Durango Colorado. As a year-round guide service, we offer our clients jaw-dropping climbing and trekking opportunities in the summer while our guided skiing, ice climbing, and avalanche education keep our guests busy in the winter. As the only year-round guide service headquartered in Silverton, we are uniquely qualified to share our world-class backyard with you, your friends, and your family. His instruction style was perfect to educate everyone in climbing techniques and he was a ch a positive presence overall—great energy. He was very attentive to the group overall and varying interests and skill sets. Really top notch: we would hire him again in the future.

My Big MTN Avy 2 course was an absolute great opportunity to learn from Matt and Chris, both fantastic people and educators in the space of Avy Ed in the San Juans. Both go the extra effort to ensure everyone is able to have any individual and team goals met through the course work. What a fantastic experience. As someone who took their Avy 1 and was terrified of the backcountry, I felt incredibly empowered by this course. Mia was incredible! She teaches in a manner that lifts you up and makes you believe in yourself, which is invaluable to me. Mal was great, providing plenty of smiles and laughs. I can't say enough good things about this course. 10/10 highly recommend!!!
