Welcome to San Juan Expeditions the guide service of Silverton and Durango Colorado. As a year-round guide service, we offer our clients jaw-dropping climbing and trekking opportunities in the summer while our guided skiing, ice climbing, and avalanche education keep our guests busy in the winter. As the only year-round guide service headquartered in Silverton, we are uniquely qualified to share our world-class backyard with you, your friends, and your family. Jack and his team at SJE made a day in the cold and wind with 18 middle schoolers an absolute blast! They supported Powder Term's students to learn more about avalanche safety and rescue scenarios by providing us with real practice and experience in backcountry terrain with proper gear. The guides are world class - experienced AND phenomenal teachers. While we hope to never have to use the skills we learned in a real-life situation, we are grateful for their thoughtful teachings and practice. We can't wait to come back year after year!
