Ben Mirkin is an outstanding instructor. He is able to meet all students at their level of knowledge and skill and bring them through the curriculum with kindness and support. Ben also gave valuable individual feedback throughout the day ensuring that all students got the most from the program. Rescue skills are critical and should be reviewed every year for optimum preparedness. I highly recommend Ben as an instructor.

We had an incredible day climbing at Kinsman Notch with Laurie and Tori! Climbing instruction and encouragement set us up well to make progress in our technique throughout the day. I’ve been comfortable with and have had great instruction with every male guide with whom I’ve climbed, but there is something really special about being able to climb with a female guide! Both are excellent mentors and I’m looking forward to continuing to climb with both, but only one feels like a sisterhood.

This Top Rope Ice Climbing trip was amazing! I learned so much from Laurie and Toni on this trip, and definitely took my skills up a notch. It was clear our guides had a ton of experience, technical knowledge and familiarity with the area they brought us to. Our day ran smoothly from start to finish, and I know this has a lot to do with a guide's preparation and experience. So glad I went on this trip!

I spent two days tuning my movement on ice. Placing protection and eventually leading a route. The course was a fluid learning environment, catering to the skills *we* brought to it, under the supervision of our expert instructors. Our small group (2) was set up alongside another MMG group working with another guide. This allowed us to safely hop on many different routes. Special thanks to Chris and Laurie for making it a great weekend! The course absolutely met my expectations. This is 4th event with MMG and I am always pleased with each and every instructor I’ve been mentored by with the team at MMG. If you’re reading this and have never hired a guide, I think it can be daunting to invest in yourself but it is more than worth it when you seek qualified instruction via MMG.

This is my second trip with Mooney but definitely not my last!!! All staff were kind, approachable, attentive to safety and physical concerns, transparent, knowledgeable and SO FUN! As a person that asks a lot of questions, they answered them all with a smile and enthusiasm! I left climbing from their group trip feeling accomplished and am definitely coming back! I had never been ice climbing before. Chris took us up to Kinsman‘s Notch to go climbing. The whole experience far exceeded my expectations and I am excited to go ice climbing again. Chris is a knowledgeable and experienced guide and really takes the time to teach you the basics. I would highly recommend Chris as a guide as he made sure we had a great time!
