This was my first time ice climbing, Laurie gave great instruction and set up a day with enjoyable and attainable climbs for a wide range of abilities. It speaks to Laurie's nature that I never felt like, as the least experienced person, I was holding anyone back or that the climbs were unmanageable. I learned a lot, had a lot of fun and will definitely return in the future.

I took a Learn to Lead on Ice class with Mooney Mountain Guides and had an incredible experience. Our lead guide Chris was thorough and thoughtful throughout the entire day, making sure we understood each concept before moving forward. The progression was perfect - we learned how to read ice conditions, place screws, practice mock leading, and finally lead our first route. Our assistant guide Jack was super helpful and supportive every step of the way. Even though we only met Alex briefly, he took the time to give me an amazing step-by-step breakdown of anchor systems that really clicked. I loved every bit of this class and would 100% recommend Mooney Guides to anyone looking to develop their ice climbing skills. The entire team clearly cares about both accessing risk and helping students progress confidently.

Alex was a terrific guide. He gave us great advice on how to handle ourselves and made sure we were in good shape the whole way. We had an excellent ascent of Mt. Washington with Alex as our guide. He did a great job of ensuring we used the right technique, fueled correctly and kept the right pace to summit. On top of that, we had a really fun time! We’d recommend to anyone looking to attempt the summit.
