About me
Growing up in rural New York, Chris often escaped to his local crag – the Shawangunks– to go rock climbing. What began as a strong interest soon blossomed into a full-blown passion and later into a career in the outdoor industry. In the 1990s, Chris worked as a sales manager at Sterling Rope and later as a category buyer at Eastern Mountain Sports. In 2005, he purchased the Boston Rock Gym – the second oldest climbing gym in the United States –which he operated until its closure in 2020. Since then, Chris has served as a consultant to the climbing industry and as a climbing guide/instructor, and has worked with several climbing organizations in a variety of roles including the American Alpine Club and the Rumney Climber's Association. He has been a professional member of the American Mountain Guides Association since the 1990s
