What an outstanding experience! Base Camp Ouray’s Gold Mountain course is very vertical! It is user friendly, but challenging in just the right ways. There are plenty of rungs to use as you climb and though we never felt unsafe, it is pretty demanding—especially going around the rock out cropping. So glad we chose to try the more difficult route and can say that we accomplished it! The whole thing was exhilarating! Walking through and learning about the outer remnants of the old gold mine was a cool and unexpected part of the climb. And the views of Ouray were spectacular! Besides the physical challenge of the via ferrata itself, it was a beautiful and interesting adventure! Our guide, Brandon, was the best. He was super helpful and genuinely encouraging as we navigated the mountain. We were very happy to have had him as our guide! This course is a bit pricey, but if you love via ferratas, Gold Mountain is the way to go— it was a wonderful and thrilling experience!

We arrived at Basecamp Ouray at 8 in the morning. Met our guide manny. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Full of energy and loved what he does for work. We had a blast. The weather was great. I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you a ton. We will be back.
