Two friends and I were in Ouray for a fun weekend and booked a guided ice climbing half day for its uniqueness and intrigue. Our instructor was Chloé and she was simply amazing. Patient, outgoing, encouraging, professional, steady, and obviously passionate about the sport. And the passion was infectious! Our previous experience ranged from none to leisure rock climbing. Chloé worked with where we were in comfort, in skill, and in strength. We had an amazing time and would absolutely do it again!

The clinic was set up very well with good instruction during the intro hour that really helped out on the rock, the guides were helpful and super positive and I had several good conversations while waiting for climbs.

Our party of 2 adults had a blast on the Ouray Via Ferrata with our guide Jacob. While we were both athletic and had prior experience with ropes courses, we were glad we got a guide because the Via Ferrata was sufficiently different that it was helpful to have an expert there to answer questions and demonstrate technique and approach. I appreciated that Jacob was serious about safety but also friendly, fun, and positive. Highly recommend the guided Ouray Via Ferrata with Basecamp Ouray!

Via Ferrata with Jason & Lucas was a GREAT experience! I would follow the two of them anywhere. Very glad I booked with Basecamp Ouray. Lucas joined us near the end of the Via Ferrata as the group split into two: one part doing the Skyway with Jason and one part doing the Skyladder with Lucas. Jason knows the Via Ferrata inside and out, and is great at evaluating the skills of the climbers and adjusting his leadingship to fit. He's a great guy.

My wife and I scheduled a trip to the Ouray Via Ferrata with Basecamp Ouray based on reviews. They were not wrong! They were easy to schedule with and made sure we were comfortable with all the equipment and safety procedures. Our guide Jason Doyle aka 5 Star Jason was fantastic! He was patient, encouraging and very knowledgeable about the route and surrounding area. He absolutely knew what to say and do to push you beyond what you thought you were capable of. Highly recommend!!!
