They were very patient with us and guided us to a successful day of ice climbing. If you are thinking about trying ice climbing I highly recommend Base Camp to guide you to a successful adventure

We had a great time learning to ice climb with Basecamp Ouray! Logan was very knowledgeable and helped us learn the basics while also pushing ourselves on harder climbs. This was very manageable for beginning climbers, and we would highly recommend!

Via Ferrata through Basecamp was the highlight of our entire trip to Colorado. If you are anywhere close to Ouray, this is a MUST. My family and I had a blast. We weren’t sure what to expect but we were so lucky to have Logan, the visionary and builder behind Gold Mountain Via Ferrata be our guide. He was the best of the best. He shared his amazing story and vision behind Gold Mountain, the history behind Ouray and the geological formations of the rocks we were climbing. His positivity, mindset, and motivation to support all of us up the routes was beyond helpful. Forever grateful and thankful for this experience. An experience we will never forget.

Our group of 7 was on a work retreat, and this was the perfect activity to spend our day doing. We all had so much fun on this thrilling and challenging outing. It definitely gets your heart pounding if you're not used to heights and/or rock climbing, but the guides are there with you the whole time to offer help and encouragement as needed. Our outing on Gold Mounting offered incredible views of the town of Ouray and surrounding areas. We also got to see historic mining buildings, equipment, and even went through an old tunnel at one point. I also really appreciated doing Gold Mountain (as opposed to the other Via Ferrata courses in the area) because we had it all to ourselves. It was nice to not have to worry about other parties going too slow in front of you or too fast/trying to pass. This was also a fantastic work/team building experience. Definitely playing off of themes of trust, encouragement and teamwork the whole time. I can't wait to go do another Via Ferrata sometime!

Best family adventure! Our guide was Brandon and he was amazing. Friendly, super chill, and extremely knowledgeable. Felt safe the entire time. Our family is active and has hiking experience but little to no climbing experience. My kids (17,15, and 10) had a blast and completed the course with a little left in the tank. My youngest daughter is very petit and Brandon spent a lot of extra time making sure her climbing needs were being met. Would definitely use Basecamp Ouray again and would recommend this trip!
