For over two decades Atlantic Climbing School has been Maine’s premier climbing guide service, specializing in small, custom rock and ice climbing courses in Acadia National Park, Camden, Maine, and beyond. ACS is one of just 30 programs in the U.S. accredited by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). ALL of our staff are certified by the AMGA as either Rock Guides, Rock Instructors, or Single Pitch Instructors, and we are proud to be the ONLY guide service in Maine to have this distinction

We had a wonderful trip on 8/1/2024 with Adam. He was great with my kids (9 girl, 12 boy). He is knowledgeable and did a great job teaching the kids and helping them feel safe and supported. Climbing was great for their confidence, communication, teamwork and physically challenging. Climbing the sea cliffs and cave was our 12 year old sons favorite part of the 5 day vacation.

Mike and Calvin were great guides for our whole family. They personalized the adventure to all of our kids’ ages and stages. They were safe, engaging, educational, and made sure we all were having fun. A couple of our kids were surprised at how much they enjoyed the climbing adventure that day!

Our guide, Sam, was excellent! Our kids, 13 and 15 yo, said it was the highlight of our Acadia/Bar Harbor trip. We opted to rappel down a cliff face and climb up it (one of the rock faces along the coast between Sand Beach and Thunder Hole)! I was apprehensive at first, as I'm somewhat scared of heights, and at no point did I or my family feel unsafe. It was truly an amazing and memorable experience!

It was amazing, wonderful, even on a misty day the rocks were dry, the guide was knowledgeable, comforting, and made it an exhilarating experience for both of us.
