Mojave Guides is an AMGA accredited guide service in Joshua Tree, California. This accreditation ensures that we are upholding the highest of industry standards, including rigorous and uniform guide training, compliance with state and federal law, and that we promote ethical business practices. Our guides are contributing members of both the climbing community and our local community in Joshua Tree. We look forward to introducing you to our favorite place!

Want to hear about Mojave Guides? How much time do you have? From Maine, we chose Mojave Guides to guide our climbing trip in Joshua Tree because Joshua Tree is their very own playground in their very own backyard. Also, and importantly, we spoke with other professional guides who had worked with Mojave Guides for years and gave them a very high recommendation. One guide we spoke with told us, "Mojave Guides not only meets the required standards, they exceed them!" They are so right! Emery, our guide, knows every inch of Joshua Tree and picked out the best routes suited to our climbing level - for fun, for learning, for challenge, for . . . ta-da! Enthusiasm is one of Emery's best qualities, and it is contagious! He engages in ways that immediately build trust and confidence. He infuses safety awareness. He instructs in a manner that is encouraging and supportive. He cheers for you with his signature genuine enthusiasm and brings out your best! All of these attributes result in a superlative climbing guide, but it is his warmth, his kindness, his generous spirit, and his unassuming personality that reveal his fine character. We have found not only a great guide but we hope, a new friend. Packing up our smiles, our new memories, and our slightly sore muscles and heading home to Maine. This rock climbing experience was a highlight of our trip! We were nervous at first but Emery got us comfortable and gained our trust quickly. We got to do 5 climbs on 4 different routes. It was an amazing time and I would recommend to anyone!

We had an incredible morning climbing with Taylor. Taylor was everything we could have hoped for and more. He picked the perfect climbing location for us. He was funny and fun to talk to. He was the BEST encourager and helped us reach our top potential. The equipment we rented was good quality. We also enjoyed learning about the park and flora and fauna from Taylor. 5/5– my 10 year old daughter and I HIGHLY recommend this experience! Say yes to an incredible day of climbing!!

A beautiful hike away from the crowds in Joshua Tree National Park. Our guide James Murphy was personable, knowledgeable, and did an outstanding job guiding us through an area with no trail markers! Taylor was a fantastic guide! I was hoping for some easy beginner climbs for my 8 year old son and some slightly more challenging climbs for myself and he picked the perfect spot, was great to hang out with and kept us all safe. I highly recommend Mojave Guides!
