We had the best day with Mojave Guides and Mason. We had lots of flexibility to go at our own pace and prioritize the things we wanted to do and see most. They made everything super fun and easy for us. Mason made us feel very safe while still allowing us to get outside our comfort zones and push ourselves. This experience was the highlight of our trip! We look forward to one day doing something like this again!

Our time with Murphy was incredible! He was encouraging, helpful, and a great guide! I did not expect to go as high as we did while climbing but I’m glad he pushed us both to challenge ourselves! It was really fun and I would do this again :)

This was by far the highlight of my trip to Joshua Tree. I am not an experienced climber - as in, I have repelled like twice as a youngster, and have done indoor climbing only a handful of times - and this was perfect. I shared that I am pretty athletic and Murph picked out the perfect places to show me the ropes (pun intended. Also said ropes and all other safety equipment is adequately provided.) The first climb at The Chief was challenging, but doable, and Murph was encouraging and a great coach. I learned so much! And then - The Casm of Doom Scramble. If you want to feel like you’re in an Indiana Jones movie, make sure you do this run IT. WAS. AWESOME. Murph was such a fun guide; we started as acquaintances and left as friends, hugs and all when the time was through. Don’t look anywhere else for climbing guides in JT - you found everything you need right here with Mojave Guides.

We were guided by Murph, who was probably the most positive and fun human being that we ever encountered. Murph took our climbing instructions and prior experience into account, and selected a climb we would enjoy the most. He was encouraging throughout the climb and made sure we had an excellent climb in a safe and controlled environment. Throughout the climb, we had a great time and made some really lasting memories. If you’re at all interested in climbing in Joshua Tree and wondering who to go with, go with Mojave Guides- they come highly recommended!

We had a blast on our first rock climbing experience! Our guide took us into the park for some epic climbing routes and showed us everything we needed to know. He was very patient with us and he kept us motivated and entertained the whole time! Oh and he also took us to the Chasm of Doom for some fun rock scrambling afterwords. Highly recommend booking this company for your next rock climbing adventure in Joshua Tree!!

Murphy was awesome! He was such a professional but totally laid back and helpful every step of the way. Rock climbing has been a bucket list item for me and I can’t wait to do more. We even got to visit the Chasm of Doom. Such a cool experience that I highly recommend to everyone!!

My climbing partner and I booked 1 1/2 days with Mojave guides given our time constraints. It worked out perfectly and we had a fantastic experience with James “Murf” as our guide. He chose the perfect climbs for us and we really loved learning more about gear placement and anchor building (on the ground) as this was something we wanted to practice. Loved the combo of adventure and education. Highly recommend Mojave Guides and James as they are super accommodating and best of all fun! We’ll be back!

I highly recommend Mojave Guides and James “Murf”. My climbing partner and I had an absolutely stellar experience with him as our guide for one and a half days. We both have some experience but we’re relatively new to JTree. Murf chose the perfect climbs for our skill levels and interests. We were challenged but not overwhelmed. Best of all we had a blast and always felt perfectly safe! Thank you for a super fun adventure! We’ll be back!
