Bring: Lunch, water bottle, closed toe shoes or boots with a heel, long pants. Dress in layers as we will be outdoors most of the day. Sunscreen and a hat with a brim is also advised!

We provide riding helmets for students, or you may bring your own.

Schedule of Events (subject to change):

9-9:30 Arrivals and animal feeding- Help us feed the animals until everyone has arrived.

9:30 Barn tour and safety discussion- Learn how to approach, halter, lead and safely tie horses, as well how to safely groom and tack up horses.

10-12:00 Grooming, tacking up, arena rides and games- Students will learn how to ride using a series of 13 gymkhana games. These games are safe and manageable for beginner riders, but allow even the most advanced riders opportunities to learn new skills. We will work on developing strength and balance in riders while they play these fun rodeo games at the walk, trot, and canter (when and where skill levels allow).

12-1:30 Lunch (bring your own lunch), make and feed horse lunches

1:30-3 Trail ride/Mustang Experience- ride through our beautiful backcountry. Students will learn how to safely participate in a backcountry trail ride- it's a lot more than just sitting on a horse! For those who are not yet able to trail ride, we will offer the Mustang Experience, an opportunity to work with our mustangs from the ground- a valuable skill in horsemanship and a critical tool for horse training.

3-3:30 Untack/wash horses, help put them away

3:45-4:45 BB Guns/Archery

5:00 Animal feeding, veterinary science learning and seminar on horse colors and markings
