About Us

4.9 (76 reviews)
We’re a small worker owned cooperative run by women who began with a dream of farming seaweed. We say “This is What Climate Resilience Tastes Like” because seaweed embodies the qualities of a climate resilient resource- it is abundant, renewable, fast growing, and needs no fresh water or fertilizer to grow. Seaweed also sequesters carbon and nitrogen, improving the marine ecosystems where it grows! Collectively, our team has spent decades harvesting and using seaweed in our daily lives. This curriculum has taken years to develop which places high priority on the mindful, responsible harvesting methods that we use. We want everyone to enjoy and immerse themselves in seaweed and become stewards of these extremely special places. We put the ocean first in everything we do. It is with great honor, privilege and gratitude that we offer the experiences we do in order to grow our mindful seaweed foraging community.

This was an informative and fun day! Thanks for being so organized and prepared- I appreciated the snacks, water and coffee. I wish everyone would take this opportunity to learn about the benefits of Kelp and to learn how helpful this can be in our daily lives. BTW, not all Seaweed is Kelp but all Kelp is Seaweed!

I had a wonderful time tidepooling & learning. I was surprised to learn that a liscense isn’t required to harvest marine plants. Well, I looked into it and turns out it actually is required. You need a sport license and then you can harvest with certain requirements. It’s actually on page 56 of the sport fisherman’s booklet. Since this is a newly emerging market of wild harvesting, I would love to see more in depth focus on harvesting ethically, legally and approached with reverence.

Seaweed foraging w/ kelpful was a lot of fun, I highly recommend it. Even though I was the only confirmed person on the trip, Jules did not cancel and gave me a personal foraging adventure. The guides were both very knowledgable about seaweed and many ocean creatures! Great opportunity, don't pass it up!

What a great experience! Very informative and fun. A little pricey for the group size , but none the less a great educational experience and just amazing the bounty the sea has to offer if maintained. I would highly recommend for fun or to get started on the seahrvesting experience.
