Aspen Expeditions

I booked Aspen Expeditions for a guided climb of Pyramid Peak. Our guide Scott was amazing. He communicated with us before the hike to make sure we were ready for the summit attempt, and he was on time and very professional. Most of all he really took much of the uncertainty and anxiety out of this climb. Having climbed Pyramid many times, he knew practically every rock on the route. He set a great steady pace for us and chose the safest options to minimize the risk of rockfall. Safety was obviously his number one priority, and we summited early and got back off the mountain before the threat of weather. Having a guide really made this much more fun and enjoyable.

Trip: Maroon Bells Traverse

Spent two days with Britt, one as training and one for the Maroon Bells traverse. Day one he added a fun hike up a 13er to the end of the training which I really appreciated. Day two he helped me through some challenges as I’m relatively inexperienced on technical climbs. Always professional and encouraging. I’m going to try to use Aspen Expeditions again in the future.

Trip: Crested Butte Hike

We have been hiking with Zach for several years now, and I could not possibly recommend him more highly! He leads us on several trips every summer--from my husband's 14k' treks to our annual walk to Crested Butte to our family overnight camping trips. He's prepared, he's flexible, and he's really great with young kids/tweens. Zach has deep knowledge of the area, animal/plant life, and his various crafts, and he is always interested in learning/doing more. When we plan our summers in Aspen, the first plan we secure is outdoor adventures with Zach.

We had the most incredible experience with Scott climbing the Maroon Bells Traverse. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind. We felt safe the entire time and we leaned a ton during the process. We look forward to hiring Scott again for Capitol and Pyramid as well as some backcountry skiing expeditions! Highly recommend Scott and Aspen Expeditions!

Trip: Pyramid Peak

Travis was great. He communicated with us, he sent a link about parking and his concerns about weather. He offered to start earlier than planned in hopes of avoiding the incoming weather. Unfortunately, we walked in a lot of rain, which really slowed me down, so when it was time to climb the "1000 ft of suck", I wasn't having much fun and feeling out of sorts...my signal that it is time to bail and try again another day.
