Trip: Backcountry Hot Springs

Guide: Katie C., Cullen O.

The hot springs and swimming holes and biking the passes were my favorite parts. The guides and food were excellent. The washboard was plentiful and painful and riding through so much burned country was disappointing, as was the smoke-filled air (not under your control). I’d suggest you warn customers a bit more about the condition of the roads and give feedback when they tell you the bike they’re planning on bringing.

Trip: Backcountry Hot Springs

Guide: Katie C., Cullen O.

Our trip had great weather, cooler than it might have been and sunny. The only downside was the smoke, beyond your control. You gave us the right beta in changing our tires to two and a quarter size from the 40mm we had on our gravel bikes. We did several rides beforehand that had 3 to 4k climbing but still struggled on the climbs. We had gravel bikes without suspension and without a big climbing low gear. So we got worked on the steepest uphills and on the bumpiest downhills. The rest of the group had ebikes with full suspension and had to wait for us on the bigger climbs. For this ride I would encourage anyone to use a bike with suspension and a broad range cassette. The long downhill on day three had us riding the brakes the whole time with a bit of walking to get a rest, all part of the game. the food was excellent and in ample supply. Kudos to master chefs Katie and Cullen. We noted that if you added a blade and an extra water tank to the truck the guides could get up early and smooth out the washboard and knock down the dust with minimal spray. A tractor beam could be useful also.

Trip: Telluride to Moab Mountain Bike

Guide: Chris P., Kc G.

Chris and KC were great guides. They were patient with our 'senior' group. They worked hard, cooked amazing fresh meals, and were very helpful. The route was terrific with few cars, lots of gravel, and some very challenging sections for gravel bikes. I'd suggest stocking 700c tubes as a backup for future gravel bike rides, warning elderly clients that they may want to bring their own chair (we had an 81 year old who had difficulty getting into and out of the chairs). Having the truck follow us was great and allowed us to only bring water bottles and add or ditch clothing as temperatures changed. Both Chris and KC were laid back making the trip very enjoyable yet we were on schedule with little stress. I'll emphasize the food was excellent and the guides great cooks!

Trip: Bears Ears North

Guide: Franklin S., Avery K.

My second perfect trip with WS- and this time I brought my husband to show him. Superb biking, great mysteries of the Ancestral Puebloans, great camaraderie and food. And yes the guides- Frank, Avery and Katie. They had an eye for safety, and did everything for us including preparing all the great food. But at heart it was their enthusiasm, inquisitiveness, and devotion to the west/the outdoors. - it energized my entire 5 days. Thanks so much!!

Outstanding! Loved the pace and trip location, and the guides (and food) were off the chart (?)

Trip: Custom Trip

Guide: Chris P., Lucas E.

Great ride, super guides, really nice time of year. Some descents were a bit loose and chunky for my gravel bike but a spirit of adventure and a commitment to enjoying the trip and not focusing on the destination made even those parts of the ride enjoyable. The climb up John Brown Canyon on day 4 is no joke- be prepared for some suffering and take pride in your accomplishment when you hit the summit. Chris and Luke were amazing at all aspects of the trip- you are lucky if you get them supporting your trip.
