Trip: Custom Trip

Guide: Franklin S., Avery K.

Great trip, guides were excellent, food was super (loved all the fresh veggies & fruit), scenery was wonderful. The description on the website needs to be updated - it said "You may be away from camp and the support vehicle all day and need to be self-sufficient" - which fortunately was not the case. I brought extra gear anticipating this would happen. Also, distances were incorrect (hike to Lewis Lodge was much longer).

Great trip! Claire and Shane were both very capable and accommodating guides. The food was very nice. Spencer was also very helpful and personable. We all had a great time!

Trip: Custom Trip

Guide: Franklin S., Avery K.

The guides—Avery, Cullen, and Frank—made this adventure to Bear Ears a warm and human experience. They went out of the way to know all the riders and to support them. They worked incredibly hard and long each day and always had a positive attitude no matter what. Good job, Western Spirit!

Trip: Bryce to Zion

Guide: Anna R., Chris K.

Guides were friendly, cheerful, and did an excellent job with the food. Enhanced the trip. The itinerary was mixed. Bryce and Zion are magnificent. But the long slog up after the Navajo lake camp in the heat was brutal, and much of it not that interesting. The Virgin Rim trail is quite tedious with uncleared trees requiring good cyclocross skills, and wasn’t that fun or interesting. In general, I have found that WS doesn’t do the best job of preparing for a specific trip. For this trip, should’ve made clear that Zion Narrows was a river walk and the appropriate water shoes or sandals should be packed. And that there was not a limitation on what can be taken (unlike what I experienced on 6 day Maze trip in 2022). My suggestion is to think about a trip or two more oriented to fit seniors, with more hiking expeditions, a more naturalist orientation. I think there might be some interest. Finally, the Tropic Lake and Navajo lake campgrounds were not that interesting, the Lars Fork was great. The great thing about WS is that one doesn’t necessarily need to do much pre-trip preparation, but I would suggest that you advise your clients to do so anyway. I should have! All in all a great 5 days the above more area to consider for future trips

Trip: Bears Ears South

Guide: Chris P., Katie C.

The trip was awesome. No Complaints. The zippers on the tents could use some lubricant. Chris and Katie were exceptional guides. Thanks for a great time

Trip: Maze 5 Day

Guide: Anna R., Lucas E.

Awesome scenery, awesome food, awesome guides! All in all an awesome trip, which allowed us to get into a part of Canyonlands Natl. Park, which would have otherwise been inaccessible to us.

Trip: White Rim

Guide: Chris K.

Great people, from crew to riders, and incredible views. Definitely a 5/5! I can't image how it could have been any better, but I do look forward to another ride with Wester Spirit Cycling (i.e., the Maze).

Trip: White Rim

Guide: Chris K.

I really enjoyed the White Rim Rod tour with Chris, Avery and Spencer. These guides did a great job supporting us and responding to the needs of the tour participants including hauling out an injured rider and his mom, and supplying me with a loaner bicycle after my own bike suffered a broken and unrepairable rear derailleur. Those folks were great and the meals they prepared for us were all delicious and satisfying. My only minor suggestion: I would have found it helpful to know I would be pitching my tent on hard rock on one or more nights of the tour. I found erecting my free standing tent using only rocks as anchors to be challenging. I might have practiced that at home if I had been aware of this. This is minor! The campsites are perfect and beautiful! Beyond that, keep up the great work and be sure to tell Chris, Avery, and Spencer to do the same. Thanks again!
