We’re a small worker owned cooperative run by women who began with a dream of farming seaweed. We say “This is What Climate Resilience Tastes Like” because seaweed embodies the qualities of a climate resilient resource- it is abundant, renewable, fast growing, and needs no fresh water or fertilizer to grow. Seaweed also sequesters carbon and nitrogen, improving the marine ecosystems where it grows! Collectively, our team has spent decades harvesting and using seaweed in our daily lives. This curriculum has taken years to develop which places high priority on the mindful, responsible harvesting methods that we use. We want everyone to enjoy and immerse themselves in seaweed and become stewards of these extremely special places. That is why we are donating 10% of our experience sales to coastal conservation. We put the ocean first in everything we do. It is with great honor, privilege and gratitude that we offer the experiences we do in order to grow our mindful seaweed foraging community.

Jules is amazing, passionate, and so knowledgeable. It was such a pleasure to take her class and learn about all of the fantastic health benefits of the different types of seaweed that we tried. It was also a dream to learn how to make my favorite ever seasoning that her business up until recently had been selling. I loved the pairing of Kelpful with Black Market cheese. A brilliant pairing! Thank you, both Kristy and Jules for the most wonderful afternoon.

Our group had an incredible time at the seaweed workshop! Jules is exceptionally knowledgeable and very passionate about seaweed farming and foraging. We learned a lot while having fun making seaweed seasoning (that my husband won’t stop eating) and a seaweed bath salt mix that I can’t wait to try. All in all it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon by the bay! Highly recommend any Kelpful offerings!

Our seaweed foraging adventure with Jules was amazing. She picked the perfect day to go as the tides were low, the wind was minimal, and her secret spots were beautiful and peaceful. She was extremely knowledgeable about all the different varieties of plants and sea creatures we encountered during our Journey with her. We cooked up some seaweed the next day and made the best seaweed pesto ever with her recipe. I highly recommend doing a foraging class with her.
