Trip: Wilderness First Aid: May 30- June 1, 2025 - Scholarship

Guide:

Brittany and Rachel were incredible instructors. I feel so lucky to be given the opportunity to learn in such a safe and considerate environment. Each topic was made tangible to real world examples and included scenarios bringing in considerations for different body shapes, economic statuses, ethnic backgrounds, and many other important information that adds nuance to these situations. I feel so much more empowered to tackle real life scenarios, and I am excited to say that this WFA course helped open up a career path I would not have thought possible otherwise. This is an incredibly rare and special scholarship that honors and uplifts BIPOC people!!

Trip: Wilderness First Aid: May 30- June 1, 2025 - Outlandish

Guide:

I cannot say it enough - This past weekend was one of the MOST FULFILLING experiences I’ve received recently in my life. To know that there is an ARMY of GOOD in the outdoors that looks like me/us is so comforting. I knew you all existed but to unite was truly special. That 3-day WFA course felt like a warm, heartfelt embrace from our ancestors and the Indigenous peoples who first walked these lands—those who developed and lived these teachings. It was an honoring of their wisdom, shared again with care, patience and relevance in a modern context. I believe the specific way the course was provided also allowed me to internalize information more seamlessly while both Rachel and Britt (and the group) built a safe space for everyone to contribute, add, critique and share. This learning experience set the bar for me and will be my expectation moving forward when I recertify. Our instructors also inspired me to pursue teaching in someway in the outdoors. I aim to follow their guide and build on what I've learn to continue amplifying Rise Up, Back Country Pulse and Brown Girls Climb.

Trip: Full Day Rock Climbing - Single Pitch

Guide: Andy L.

The trip was amazing! Andy and I talked about goals for the day and they were really able to create a flow as well as be flexible that helped hit all the goals. I really appreciated all the knowledge they shared and I learned a lot.
