Trip: Pikes Peak Summit Hike

Guide: Britt J.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable experience thanks to Hike For Life (HFL)! I climbed Pike’s Peak on October 18th with the incredible team from HFL, and I can honestly say it was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. I hired HFL not only to guide me to the summit but also to teach me essential outdoor skills, and they went above and beyond in both aspects. My two guides, Britt and Mike, were phenomenal. Their knowledge of the terrain, weather conditions, and survival techniques was impressive, but what truly stood out was their unwavering motivation and support throughout the climb. Their encouragement made all the difference, especially during the last, most difficult stretch in white-out conditions. I’m not sure I would have made it without their expertise and belief in me. The climb itself took us through a total elevation gain of 4,300 ft, starting from just under 10,000 ft to the summit at 14,109 ft, covering a round-trip distance of about 14 miles. From navigating changing weather conditions—starting in the freezing dark and climbing through spring, summer, fall, and winter—to facing a challenging class 3 rock climb in near-zero visibility, my guides were calm, professional, and inspiring. Their preparation and guidance made this adventure not only possible but deeply rewarding. Reaching the summit was an emotional moment I’ll never forget, and I owe so much of that to the fantastic team at HFL. If anyone is looking for knowledgeable, motivating, and highly skilled guides for their next adventure, I can’t recommend Hike For Life enough!!! Thank you, HFL, for an incredible experience! Gabriela

Mindy was a great guide not only getting us to the summit but also safely down the mountain. She went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. Thank you!

Trip: Pikes Peak Summit Hike

Guide: Bruce M.

It was absolutely fantastic! Bruce was knowledgeable, funny, and encouraging. Us flat landers from Michigan were able to summit Pikes Peak from Crags with the help of Bruce. I would highly recommend that even if you know where you are going to hire a guide. It makes it so much more rewarding and safe.

Trip: Pikes Peak Summit Hike

Guide:

To review Hike for Life for Pikes Peak, I have to introduce two guides. The first is my official guide Mindy. She’s knowledgeable, attentive and cheerful. The advices she gave me were all dead on. With her as my guide and companion the arduous hike was fun! She also cared about my having a good time in the region in general and told me a lot of hidden treasures, such as the water fountains in Manitou Springs, each fed by a different mountain spring — make sure you go there and taste them! My “unofficial” guide is Britt. He’s officially the driver to take us down from the summit after the hike. He’s a guide, too, but was recovering from knee surgeries. He’s *way* more involved in our hike than a driver: He met us at various points along the trail when it intersects with the road and suggested that I skip a 1/3 mile of rocky path, considering my age and bad knees. With his and Mindy’s advice, I skipped that part. Although that meant not 100% success, I’m still glad and grateful I did that! Overall, HFL guides love hiking and have the customer’s best interest in mind. Together, Mindy and Britt provided a lot more support than I could possibly hope for. Mindy and Britt, thank you and see you again!

Trip: Garden of the Gods Immersion Hike

Guide: Tabitha F.

Tabitha is the best hiking guide. Not only did she tell our group about the history of the park, she also gave us some suggestions on where to eat and other places that we should hike. She was great!
