Trip was fantastic! Ben is an amazing guide and has a vast wealth of knowledge on the backcountry and ski mountaineering as a whole. He did a great job of explaining reasons behind different processes and his thoughts on different areas around gear, conditions, technique and other areas of input. The one area that could be beneficial is if inputs around gear selection/options could be provided in advance of this course. I understand that this should not be the sole reason gear is obtained and individuals should do their own research and analysis on items as well. However, Ben’s insights on gear the first day were very beneficial and would be nice to have an understanding of before the class as well. Even if that’s through a linked blog post or YouTube video.
