I took the AAIRE 1 advanced movement class with BHM Mountain Guiding in February 2024 and I could not recommend it any more highly. Ben and Max kept the classroom portion engaging and always kept the focus on how the information related to real life scenarios in the backcountry. I thoroughly enjoyed the field portion of the class as well. I learned a lot and even found some great skiing. I highly recommend taking this class if you want to gain real world experience rather than just the basics of the AAIRE 1 curriculum.

Great class! The classroom session gave a great overview of the tools available to plan a safe tour. The field days were very practical and fun! The guides were super welcoming to questions and encouraged continual learning

Best weekend ever! Was awesome to be out learning with Ben for AIARE 1. He goes above and beyond in teaching this trip in a way I would want out of a friend teaching me. Learned tons about avalanches, safety, and just general touring/BC tips. Worth every penny - would recommend to anyone looking to up their BC game.
