Josh is an exceptional teacher with a long history to back it up. I was hesitant to learn jumping at my age (65) having little knowledge about dirt jumping before working with him. If you are in the same boat, go for it because you won’t be disappointed. Josh got me to reach beyond my fears and did it safely and efficiently. Within 2 hours I was jumping better than all of my 20 years of mtn bike experiences combined. Highly recommend!!

Great experience! Josh is really able to clearly break down the body positioning and concepts into achievable and repeatable movements and gave us a bunch of take-aways that we will be able to practice on our own in the future.

Josh was a fantastic instructor and we highly recommend! My husband and I have ridden mtn bikes for many years and wanted to get better at jumping. The entire session was organized really well: first by asking us what we were looking for and repeating back what he heard and understood what we wanted. Then running through some basic drills before starting with small features then moving up. We both picked up some really good points. He would video and review with us what we were doing well and what and where we needed to change something. He would also ride ahead or behind one of us depending on us following his line or him watching us. At the end of the lesson, he gave us a summary of what we both worked on and where we needed to keep working, then gave us next steps. Josh is extremely knowledgeable and taught in a way that was clear to understand. We had lots of fun and definitely will be back again, thanks Josh! (Hope to see you at Snowshoe sometime!)

Trip: Intro to Jumping Clinic at Kanuga
Guide: Carolyn B., Josh W.
The clinic was helpful for the fundamentals but I wish the format had been different. Having portable ramps, for example, to get more practice before the jumps would have been better. Addressing landing would also have been helpful. For a group of 6 people, I wish we had gotten more feedback.
