Zach was very personable and the day was enjoyable. Two things for improvement: asking employees to use their own vehicles for the trip seems unprofessional as does not providing water and snacks. Most companies anywhere else provide what is needed for the entirety of the day. Second thing—I told Zach that my husband had stitches down his neck and we were from Dallas. Cathedral Lake was an aggressive hike for that feedback and his pace was his own and not really ours. But all in all great guy and four stars!

Hike was good. Improvement could have been made by having a better conversation about the difficulty of the hike and how prepared guests are physically. Upon reviewing the hike after we would have not chosen one rated difficult or strenuous only being at altitude one day. Also he needs to tailor the pace for his guests. It felt like we were supposed to match his pace.

Trip: North Maroon Peak

Awesome guided adventure up North Maroon Peak! We really appreciated Aspen Expeditions taking us on to summit our first Colorado 14er and celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary after getting married at the Maroon Bells Amphitheatre 1 year prior. Scott was a fantastic guide and had wonderful pre-trip communication, good conversation on the trail, and made us feel safe every step of the way. We told him in advance that we were slower climbers, and he made sure to keep an eye out for our energy levels but allow us the time we needed to summit. We took 6.25 hours to summit and 5.75 hours on the way back down. We were especially happy to have a guide and be roped in when we saw another climbing group struggle with route finding and timidly take each step as they didn't have any ropes. We would definitely climb with Scott again. Our only recommendation is that AE update their website with more details pre-trip. The website packing list included hats and gloves, but even being one of the earlier season summits, we were advised not to bother bringing those. The website also advised 40-45 L packs, but our guide said that 20-30 L packs were more appropriate. Lastly, the website said "some hiking experience necessary" as the only required pre-requisite, but being from the East Coast, we felt this statement was misleading since "hiking" has a different definition depending on where you come from across the US.

Trip: Snowmass Mountain (2-Day)

Simi is fantastic. Felt very connected with him. Empowered to go at the pace that worked for me. He taught me many new skills along the way. Ultimately, he made the 14er I had the most reservations about seem 100% within my capacity set and even not all that difficult. I'd highly recommend him to anyone. AE is lucky to have a guide as wonderful and capable as Simi.
