VA | Backpacking | Bald Mountain - Out and Back 2 Night Camp Out

This is a two night, three day, out and back backpacking trip with a gorgeous view as a payoff at our camp site the second night! (weather permitting) I will give a general backpack packing class and a fitting of your pack to make sure you will be comfortable. All along the way you'll learn about Leave No Trace Principals. I'll teach you how to set up camp, camp in bear country and how to keep yourself motivated on hard strenuous hikes. We may even have to bushwhack a little! So you'll get to use or develop your map and compass skills (don't worry, I can teach you). This is a great hike that offers great rewards, breathtaking views, and many chances to keep pushing yourself!

About Me: I've been backpacking for years in Kentucky, Ohio, Tenessee, and Colorado. I left the regular 9-5 two years ago and have been a guide at an Summer Adventure Camp, being able to do everything one can do in the outdoors. I love white water kayaking, rock climbing, and, a little more every day, mountain biking! Mostly, though, I love the mind set you get into on a backpacking trip.
Certifications I Have: Wilderness First Responder, CPR
Provided Gear: I have two extra backpacks and one extra tent, so it would be better if you had your own. If not I can work out barrowing some more equipment.
Required Gear: Good broken in boots/shoes! Rain jacket, water bottle, backpack, tent, sleeping bag, quick dry clothing (layers and a puffy if it's cold), stove, fuel, eating utensils, food (you'll need 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners, and snacks).
Nice-To-Have Gear: Trekking Poles, Crazy Creek Camp Chair (or something similar)
