CA | Bike | Folsom Lake - Granite Bay Trail

Ready to explore one of Sacramento area's most versatile, challenging and fun mountain bike trails? Grab your padded shorts and strap in for a 12-15 mile journey through Granite Bay's trails around Folsom Lake!

There's a reason so many of TBF's races start along these trails - every hill presents a different type of terrain. We'll be riding over loose, sandy dirt, banked hardpack, granite boulders and slabs, chunky technical descents, and steep, rooty climbs! This route is my go-to ride on the weekends because it offers so much in such a compact outing.

Starting at Cavitt Junior High, we'll warm up with a few miles of rolling hills before diving down to a short ride across the beach on Folsom Lake. When you're ready, we'll drop into beautiful single track that will lead us to one of the best views of the lake you're likely to get in the area. What follows is turn after turn of unique riding challenges, climbs that will get your legs and lungs burning and downhill sections that, while tame, will give your brakes a good workout!
