Aspen Expeditions

A friend recommended this course to us a few years ago, we were finally able to make it happen, and we were not disappointed. Sunshine (Chris) was our instructor / guide and did a fantastic job. He evaluated our groups current knowledge and experience, as well as asked us what our goals for the course were, and catered it towards that to maximize our learning. I think combining the Big Mountain aspects with the Level 2 Avalanche Course made for a fantastic instructional platform that will allow us to travel more efficiently and hopefully more safely in the mountains. Thanks to Sunshine, Johnny, and the Aspen Expeditions for putting on such a great course.

Had an amazing time on that 2nd trip of the week with Chris. On tuesday we summited Baldy in West Willow area. On that 2nd day, we went to Ashcroft.Chris was thinking about a north facing slope to avoid the crusty snow. We skinned-up green mountain (12,300ft) Rode north tube on some good powdery snow. Super safe and fun day in the backcountry once again with Chris!
