The trip was fantastic! Will and Katie were awesome - I’ve never seen 2 people work so hard to ensure that all of the guests were well cared for. O can’t wait to do another trip with Western Spirit!

Trip: San Rafael Swell

Guide: Franklin S., Spencer O.

My trip was a needed re-set and Frank and Spencer helped make it happen. Two months before the trip I experienced some personal set backs that forced me to give up aerobic training. Lack of that training and coming from sea level to 5,000 ft and more elevation left me wanting for breath. I was under-prepared for the first days climbing. I had plenty of water but did not add electrolytes so while I was hydrated I was flushed. I bonked. Frank coaxed me up and over but I added 3 hours to everyone's day. If there was one thing and only one, that the guides could have stressed was making sure electrolytes were added to water bottles. In their defense they did emphasize snacks and I had them. I spent the majority of the trip in the van and that was great. Being a passenger allowed me to see landscape the riders likely missed. My experience has been I focus on riding, particularly in a new landscape, and don't "stop and smell the roses". The food was fantastic. I think you might want to be a little more honest about the difficulty of the first days ride. I think your clientel's age demographic is roughly the same as our group, 50+ to 70+,and might be hard for guides in their 20's and 30's (Frank being the exception) to relate to. You guys offer a great service. Our guides were professional and friendly. My only "sideways glance" is a better explanation for the first day. I've included a photo of the aurora we saw from our last camp. I ask that you give me credit for the photo. Thanks again.
