To reduce the economic and institutional barriers between humans and their habitat, reverse the overall negative effect that conventional human housing has on this planet, to create a less stressful plane of existence for humans in an effort to reduce the stress that they in turn place on the planet and each other.

Trip: Guided Tour

Guide:

It was really inspiring to see the work that’s gone into making sustainable housing not only possible, but more and more efficient. The ingenuity involved plus the artistic and human touches were just so cool.

Guide:

We got to see inside 2 earthships that students typically dwell in, and 1 experimental earthship. Our guide was passionate and happy to answer any and all questions. The self guided tour would not have been sufficient for me, so I'm glad we did the longer one.

We did not get to see the current models of dwellings. We did not see a dingle place that is inhabited. Not very convincing,

We signed up for the Guided Tour which was well worth the money. A fascinating visit ... learning more about how homes can be built off the grid, sustainable, and functional. If only the building industry could more incorporate some if these ideas into the homes that are built.
