About Us

She Sends is a community-centered climbing education organization dedicated to empowering women and genderqueer climbers through accessible, inclusive, and trauma-conscious outdoor experiences. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality climbing education, She Sends offers clinics, events, and retreats designed to meet climbers exactly where they are — whether it’s their first day outside or they’re looking to deepen existing skills. Our programs emphasize connection, confidence-building, and thoughtful progression in a supportive environment. We operate on a sliding scale model to help remove financial barriers and create more equitable access to outdoor education for historically disenfranchised communities. All of our offerings are guided by trauma-conscious teaching practices, prioritizing psychological safety, autonomy, and respect for each participant’s lived experience. At She Sends, climbing is more than movement on rock — it’s a pathway to community, resilience, self-trust, and growth. Through expert instruction and compassionate space-holding, we aim to foster meaningful connections to self, others, and the natural world.

Great initiative! Great energy and spirit, despite the weather. I loved the climbing clinic. That made the weekend a success for me. I would have loved some talks as well.

It was really fun climbing and I really enjoyed spending time with the people in my clinic and was glad that we got to climb despite the weather. I felt that I didn’t really learn much in my clinic and it felt more like the guides just set routes and then let us climb but there was no guidance on how to be a better climber. Didn’t really feel like a clinic.

I had such an amazing weekend! Chelsea did a phenomenal job at organizing and adapting with the less than ideal weather. I felt so valued, safe, and free! Already looking forward to next year!

It was my first time climbing outdoors and it was so special to do it with people who were so supportive and made me feel so safe!

Amazing experience with Becca! She has a way of making everyone feel welcomed and comfortable right from the start. The context of the clinic was so impactful, but the way Becca relayed all of the information and provided us a safe space to have an open conversation was what really resonated.

This is the first climbing event I've ever attended, and I went in with no expectations (especially since it looked like we were going to get rained out all weekend) but I can honestly say I had a wonderful time! The staff and volunteers were all super nice, the packing list and FAQs were well thought out, and they did a great job with the setup and facilities available. They stayed flexible with the weather and made sure everyone had a space to be safe, warm, and having fun. The clinic I signed up for was awesome and made for a super-memorable experience. I met so many awesome people and can't wait to climb with them in the future! I really appreciate the effort that went in to creating this space for women and gender-queer/non-conforming climbers and making the event happen, I hope to see it again next year!
