Trip: White Rim
Guide: Garrett C., Trey T.
this was an outstanding trip. We were blessed with great weather, outstanding guides (and amazing food) and an excellent mix of folks from all over the place that connected well on the White Rim. The biking was excellent and super fun, with just enough challenge thrown in. And I was blown away by the Canyonlands area. Staggeringly beautiful and 10,000x more grand and expansive than I realized or expected. All in all a world class adventure. thank you!

How was our trip, you ask? Well, we knew from the get-go that things would go great. Mostly it was a question of how great. I mean, it’s always about the people, right? And in our case, we’ve been friends going on 45 years. So in the end, Western Spirit made things much greater than they had to be. For example, salmon and angel food cake on the first night! Stunning! And the bikes… superb! “Like cycling on a couch,” said one of us after descending the Flint Trail without incident. We were helped muchly in this respect by Shane and Luke emphasizing the Three L’s: Look ahead, Level pedals, and Lean back. The Western Spirit policies and procedures made us confident and comfortable. The “80% Rule” kept us safe; the consistent location of the coffee cups kept us from endlessly asking. For our skill levels, the “sporty” hikes and rides worked out beautifully: neither daunting nor trivial. We all benefited from the calm, just-in-time reassurances of the guides, who in one instance even offered up a strong back as a step. Let’s also remember the satisfaction of using everything we brought. (Kudos to the maker of the packing list!) And of course, the scenery wowed us again and again. For sure the flow-state we achieved in the saddle will keep our spiritometer readings high for many months to come.

Western Spirits provided exceptional and friendly service on my White Rim trip. Frank and Lucas provided exceptionally high-quality and friendly service. I particulary enjoyed the fact that they both (sincerely) marveled at the same things we did, beautiful rainbows, the sighting to big horn sheep, the blooming desert, etc.

Trip: White Rim Ladies Ride
Guide: Anna R., Claire B.
This Womens Trip was awesome. The guides were so friendly, as well as great cooks. The gear from the bikes to the tents to the sleeping bags were top quality. We ate like queens and enjoyed the healthy, creative, delicious meals, one after the next. The riding through the White Rim was beautiful. What an unforgettable experience. Thank you!

I had a great trip. Food was great. Riding was great. Frank and Luke took really good care of us. The only comment for improvement that I would make would be to get some higher chairs. It was tough for an old guy like me to get in and out of the chairs. BTW, it was my first experience with Tailwind, although I had read about it. I am taking advantage of your offer. Tim

Trip: White Rim Ladies Ride
Guide: Anna R., Claire B.
The White Rim Ladies trip was such an amazing experience, it went above and beyond my expectations. The trip was so well organized and our guides, Anna & Claire, took such good care of us. I enjoyed the pace of the days and there was enough time for each transition that I never felt rushed. There was a nice attention to detail that shows how well-oiled WSC is as an organization (from hand-washing stations, pre-breakfast, map talks, yoga/stretching station, etc). The ride was done in such a way that there was time for pictures, rest stops, and if you wanted to push it you could. Our group bonded almost immediately and I had a great time riding with everyone. I would definitely come on another WSC trip and will recommend WSC to any and everyone! Thank you!

The Ladies Ride was the best!!!! Excellent support, food, planning, everything. Anna and Claire were knowledgeable, excellent communicators and chefs, and were the Goldilocks of guides… just right in all the ways.

Trip: Brian Head Singletrack
Guide: Ben F., Avery Kowaleski
Finally getting around to a review, first off Ben and Avery were wonderful to work with and great guides. We had a small crew for this ride but it was really fun and highly recommended. The week had something for everyone on the trip. Personally I consider myself average riding skill and while I was certainly challenged both physically and skill wise, I was able to do everything on the trip and make it back without any injuries. Avery was the only one with a little mishap. I wasn’t able to upload any additional photos, but the areas we went to had some amazing views with incredible diversity. The last ride was a run down Brian head which had a hard 2 mile climb and than several miles of awesome downhill. The guides did a wonderful job of prepping food and making for a comfortable and enjoyable overall experience. If you’re thinking about one of these trips I would not hesitate and if you’re average rider skill or above, this specific trip is well worth the cost.
