I booked a half-day wade trip to break a slump of bad luck on a certain notoriously difficult tailwater, and my SMA guide did NOT disappoint: l caught more fish in four hours than l have all spring, including the fat bruiser pictured. Not only did my guide put a magic casting stick in my hand, but he also had the irrefutably magic fly in his box and even had water when l hit the dehydration wall mid-morning. I was also able to go out and catch fish on my own later in the day thx to the tips l received. This trip was $$ well spent bc you can't put a price on education and confidence.
