About me

Hello everyone, I'm Tyler.

I am a Pacific Northwest baby. Born in Oregon, and moved to the Olympic Peninsula when I was 10. My family was always pretty outdoorsy. My father ran a Search & Rescue unit in Mason County in the 90's. So, we spent time exploring all the nooks and crannies of the area.

I have been traveling to many places. I did various volunteer programs in Europe. I was also an English teacher in China for 2 years. I have worn many hats.

I have hiked and camped everywhere I went. I have snowshoed Mt. Feldberg in the Black Forest, Germany. I have also summited old ritual mountains like Taishan in Shangdong, China.

Since the pandemic started, I have been home working on my education. I joined the local Search & Rescue unit, and gained more skills. I volunteered teaching English at a local non-profit.

I started this business to merge a passion of mine with my work life. I love taking people into the mountains and enjoying nature. Seeing the faces of newcomers in awe of the stunning sites around here makes me feel fulfilled. I want to make sure everyone has what they need to have an awesome adventure in our little portion of paradise here.

I am knowledgeable about local history and wilderness survival. I can provide information that makes the locations you visit more memorable. I can also teach survival skills to groups.

Trip: Duckabush Camp

With Tyler N. on June 27, 2023

Company: Olympic Adventure Tours

I never thought I'd be backpacking through the Olympics. I never thought that I'd be swimming in a deep blue watered secret swimming hole, filling my canteen in the rushing Duckabush, eating Filet Mignon cooked over a camp fire and communing with these Ancient forests. What an epic Experience. love it. Make sure Tyler brings his lead scout, Kodiak, the coolest dog in the world!!
