Michelle Borland
About me
Michelle has been working with horses for over 30 years. She began riding at six years old and became an assistant riding instructor at thirteen. She became a head riding instructor at 17. She rode horses in both 4-H and the United States Pony Club and was fortunate to train with many professionals in English and Western riding.
Most recently, Michelle has been managing the barn at the Bar SZ Ranch where she oversees the care and training of guest trail riding horses. She also enjoys hosting clinics where she teaches guests, students, and 4-H members all about horses and other ranch animals. Additionally, Michelle oversees the care of all boarded horses at the facility.
Keeping horses safe and comfortable is work Michelle and her team take very seriously.

We absolutely loved our time and trail ride at Bar SZ ranch. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. We really enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the horses and to help tack up, and even bridle and pick their hooves. The ranch has several other farm animals that are very approachable and friendly. Overall a 11/11 experience. Book a cabin, stay the weekend, and enjoy life at the ranch.

The horse ride experience was amazing!. Michelle was super patient and informative. They not only rode the horses but also learned how to clean them and watched them being saddled. Our kids were 7 and 10 yo.

Wife and I celebrating her birthday.. we spent a couple days there. We had fun AND we learned a lot. I will recommend to everyone.. every aspect of our experience was well structured in safety, care for the animals, all while teaching us about their lifestyle and the journey that brought them to the ranch..

This was a fun family event. Michelle was wonderful with the children, ensuring safety for the children and and the animals while teaching the children how to feed the animals. She brought animals out and put them in play pens for the children to play and pet the animals, making sure they each got attention, took turns and special time. They introduced the children to farm life and caring for these animals. They even got to gather eggs.

An absolute delight! Our 3 kids had so much fun with the animals, they got to pet, feed, and help which was so enjoyable for them and the staff were amazing! Will definitely recommend the experience and be back ourselves
