About me
Hello!
My name is Tim Lowry and I’m psyched to be part of the NRMG team. I fell in love with climbing when I climbed outdoors for the first time in 2016, on a trip led by none other than Jordan Reding! I’ve learned so much since then and I am excited to pass that knowledge along to our wonderful clients.
A fun fact you may not know about me is that I was a competitive jump roper as a young lad, from 3rd to 7th grade. If you ask nicely and provide me with a jump rope I might even show you some moves!
I moved to the New because it is the best single-pitch cragging destination in the US! The sandstone is world-class and creates a unique variety of holds. The movement is equal parts thoughtful, powerful, and technical. And the community can’t be beat! Take a trip with us and you’ll see what I mean.

My daughter & I had a great trip! Tim listened to what we were looking for and certainly made it happen! Not only was Tim a fantastic climbing guide, but he also keyed us in to some great hikes and other local to do’s for our whole family. Weather forecast was concerning, but listened to Elaina’s (owner) advice to hold our res and play it by ear and it was absolutely the right call. All in all a great experience with this outfit and our guide. Would definitely use again!

My two daughters (10 & 12), wife and I had a fantastic morning. The weather, and temperature specifically, was just right after a rainfall the night prior, but it wasn’t anything special in comparison to the helpful teachings we received from Tim and the overwhelming trust we had in is commands. He was delightful and warm but confident and reassuring throughout. Our experience couldn’t have been better and I can’t help but think that Tim had a humongous influence on an activity we all come away raving about. Climbing with New River Mountain Guides was a a great way to spend the first half of the day and we took home a memory we won’t soon forget. Thank you.
