Neil Longfellow
About me
Neil has always loved the outdoors, spending as much time in the woods as possible while growing up in Michigan and Georgia. When he moved to Colorado in 2012 his sense of adventure led him to scrambling high peaks and shortly after to technical rock climbing, ice climbing and backcountry skiing. Before long, the walls Eldorado Canyon near Boulder became a frequent stomping ground, also serving as a great launch pad for adventures spanning from granite monoliths in British Columbia to the sandstone towers of the Utah desert, to the giant granite spires in Argentine Patagonia, and of course, the incredible climbing we have here in Rocky Mountain National Park. Neil has a passion for teaching people of all abilities. With a patient and encouraging approach, he meets people where they are to tailor the day or progression that best meets their goals and interests, and provide a memorable experience.Certifications

Trip: The Cloud Ladder - Via Ferrata

Neil guided our group of 3 on the cloud ladder via ferrata and we had an amazing time. He paced us well and his guidance was crystal clear. He let us test our skills while giving advice to keep us safe and encouraged us along the way. The experience was one of a kind and we would come back again and again. One person in our group had done a less extreme via ferrata before, but the other two had no real rock climbing experience outside of climbing small indoor rock walls. When we booked I was a little worried whether we would be physically capable of completing the cloud ladder. We all exercise pretty regularly and didn’t find the physical aspect all that challenging. You definitely need to be able to hold your body weight/ pull up some of your weight for very short periods of time, but you don’t need to be someone capable of doing a ton of pull ups to manage the route. It was a highlight of our trip and we recommend the experience and request Neil for an awesome guide!
