Ian Oddo
About me
Ian grew up outside Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on concert band and pursuing a bachelor’s in music education. After college, Ian discovered rock climbing at a local gym and got hooked after nine months and two weekends outside. He moved to the Red River Gorge, Kentucky and became a Single Pitch Instructor for about 3 years, climbing hard sport and taking trips to Squamish, Red Rock, and Yosemite. After a brief break, he moved to western North Carolina to pursue a career as a full-time guide. He loves welcoming new climbers into the outdoors and helping experienced folks improve their technique and work towards their dream objectives. Ian also enjoys reading, video games, and origami.Certifications

We booked a trip with Ian to learn some basics for outdoor climbing. We spent a full day out at Looking Glass Rock. Ian was incredibly knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. He was also just a really great guy to pal around with for a day. We had a really fun day and learned a lot! We plan to book Ian again for a day out with our kid very soon. Highly recommend Ian for your rock climbing adventures!

Without a doubt one of the best trips of my life, I climbed pitches I never thought I’d have the chance to access and enjoyed every bit of the challenge, Ian was an amazing instructor and helped me out where he could (without giving away beta too much) and he made sure I was having fun the whole time. 10/10 would recommend if you’re in the area.
