I had an outstanding experience with Troy from Idaho Mountain Guides! Troy arrived at the crag well before the course started and had everything dialed in and ready to go, which set a great tone from the beginning. His teaching style was methodical and easy to follow, building concepts in a way that really made them stick. What stood out most was how he tailored the course to my specific goals—helping me become a more confident, knowledgeable, and reliable trad partner. He took the time to answer questions thoroughly and made sure I understood not just the “how,” but the “why” behind everything. I walked away feeling significantly more prepared, capable, and confident with placing trad gear, building trad anchors as well as some other basic anchor building (as I am a relatively new climber) and gave helpful recommendations on gear. I highly recommend Troy to anyone looking to have a fun day leveling up their climbing knowledge and skills!

We had an incredible experience with Idaho Mountain Guides and our guide, Troy. My teenage son Kaden has spent a lot of time in climbing gyms and was eager to expand his skills outdoors, and this trip exceeded all expectations. Troy was fantastic.
