Keith's journey from the Midwest to becoming an IFMGA-certified mountain guide is a compelling story of passion and dedication. Growing up in a region with limited climbing opportunities, he faced the unique challenge of developing his skills through patience and self-reflection. This foundational experience fostered a deep sense of resilience and a thoughtful approach to the mountains. His introduction to the possibility of a career in the outdoors at 13 through the Outward Bound program was a pivotal moment. Despite his early start in guiding—before he could even order a beer—Keith's commitment to the profession is evident. Living year-round in New Hampshire with his family, he integrates his love for the mountains into his everyday life. Keith’s enthusiasm for sharing his expertise and witnessing his clients’ achievements is a clear testament to his dedication. It was fantastic! The guides were all top notch in terms of keeping everyone informed of the conditions, giving tips on how to keep safe with the wind and temperatures, and quick on their feet with options once it was apparent we couldn't summit and had to find an alternate way down due to the hikers' energy levels. I can't thank them enough for their expertise and I can't wait to hit the summit next year.
