Successful trip into the Eastern Sierra's despite challenging weather and snow conditions. We were able to pivot during the trip to find a place to ski successfully. Connor and Valhalla know their skills and do a great job of talking through them and helping you understand them and when to apply them. We worked through various skills like crevasse rescue, ski belay, rappelling, snow and rock anchors and other various systems and skills. On this trip they provided tents and meals for morning and night, the food was good and the gear was great. Will definitely work with them again.

Connor planned an absolutely incredible trip for me involving advanced mountaineering and rock climbing skills. We finished the trip with a four pitch alpine trad climb that was phenomenal. Connor's experience is evident and I would recommend him to anyone looking to advance their skills in the wilderness for climbing, snow travel, and safety protocols.

Great vibe, great guiding. Huge thanks to Connor and Ben. They were incredibly patient with a wide range of skill levels and kept things conversational and approachable the whole weekend. They created a space where it felt totally comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, or say the wrong thing—which is exactly what you want when learning avalanche and backcountry skills. Egos were left in the parking lot, which was refreshing and honestly essential in a sport that can have a lot of them. Super solid learning environment and I’d absolutely recommend these guys to anyone getting into the backcountry.

This class rocks! Conner is a pro! He takes his work very seriously yet manages to make the course fun and engaging. The assistant guide, Ben, was also very knowledgeable and stoked about backcountry travel. After completing this course, I have much more confidence in my ability to make informed decisions before and during trips to the backcountry, as well as implementing avalanche rescue protocols. We skied high quality snow on fun lines both field days. If you want to ski/ride the Tahoe backcountry, but don’t have a death wish, you must take this course!
