The Situation

Never partnered with a software platform before and was unsure how Origin would help.

Until we came along, the AMGA hadn’t partnered with a software platform before. When Origin first reached out to the AMGA, they were curious about how we’d be able to support their members outside of a monetary donation to the organization.

The AMGA holds its members in high regard and wanted to make sure they benefitted from the partnership too. There were several fun Google Meets to discuss the details of launching a mutually beneficial partnership.

The Snag

No in-house business-side support for AMGA’s members and they wanted to incorporate partners with this kind of expertise

AMGA realized software technology was an untapped topic. They deal a lot with technical skills and member support, but not as much on the business side, which they understood was a huge part of the profession.

They understood they’re an organization that’s supporting people as professional guides. Partnering with a software booking platform like Origin was a benefit to the AMGA and its members by giving them information on how to improve the technology side of their business, which will help make a difference.

The Solution

Partnering with a software booking platform has been eye-opening for their members by sharing Origin’s expertise in business development and marketing.

AMGA quickly realized that the sharing of knowledge is huge. This is a realm that, arguably, no one at the AMGA has expertise in. Even having the basic steps that are listed in the digital marketing blog series we wrote had a huge impact on its members.

The AMGA confirmed that Guides don’t have to be super techy in order to make some of these changes. So the sharing of knowledge and helping break down barriers to business development is a new perception they had partnering with a software company.

We covered how guides can market themselves better. How they can make their website more user-friendly and inviting. Plus, we wrote about how they can make sure they’re showing up in search results.

Many guides and operators don’t think about that as much and might not want to put in the work to do that because they might think if they’re able to build up enough of a reputation, they won’t have to worry about marketing. Some rely mostly on word-of-mouth, but having a really good online presence is a huge resource they’ll probably want to tap into.

And with a good online presence, you need to know how to track it all like with Google Analytics. The AMGA knew lot of guides just don’t have time to look at it, but it’s important to see who’s coming to their website and leaves immediately. Or the trips and clients they’re missing out on because of the unresponsiveness of their sites.

The AMGA confirmed Origin helps with this digital marketing and the online business component they wouldn’t have had otherwise.
