Ouray Via Ferrata
Helmet, Harness, Via Lanyard
Appropriate Footwear (tennis shoes, hiking shoes, boots), Food, Water, Sunscreen (if desired), a rain jacket (if weather is questionable), gloves (if you want to use your own), a small pack to carry your items
All guided trips require a payment in full for securing your reservation. 75% can be refunded up to 2 weeks before your reservation. Afterwards, we cannot offer a refund, but we will reschedule your trip for another date if unforeseen conflicts arise in your life. If you leave for your guided trip for the day, we will not offer a refund for any amount. If weather or other issues arise (things that are not under the control of Basecamp Ouray) the day of your trip, we will work with you on rescheduling your adventure (availability dependent). If something occurs that cancels your trip and it is the fault of Basecamp Ouray, we will refund your entire trip amount. We highly encourage folks to keep an eye on weather conditions, road closures, etc. that may affect your trip.

I was one of 7 women who did the climb guided by Cat and Jason and they were AMAZING! The whole experience was so much fun. They were both so helpful and encouraging throughout the whole climb, especially since a few of us didn’t really have climbing experience. I could not recommend them enough! It was the thrill of a lifetime. This was our first time doing a via Ferrata on May 13. The weather was perfect, the river was really flowing and there was still ice in the canyon, but not on the course. Jason was our excellent and informative guide. The course is safe but extremely challenging. We are just older hikers with no rock climbing background. Jason coached us through the various technicals and made it fun. He also took many action videos and photos which he gave to us. Well done Jason! Great shots!! We are totally recommending this to our friends and family. 5 stars to Jason and to the course.

He was friendly, down-to-earth, and attentive to every aspect of our safety including the equipment and the best places to put our hands and feet. My husband and I did the Via Ferrata for the first time, and we did the Gold Mountain route. It was a fun and amazing experience! At first we were a hit scared, but our guide, Jacob helped us feel safe. His jokes, and knowledge about the area and the path laid out were informative and funny.
