Small Cliffs Guiding is a Climbing and Hiking guiding company operating in Connecticut and the greater northeast. We specialize in Climbing instruction and experiences for climbers of all skill levels and experiences. We offer private and group courses providing both experiences and instruction for climbers and enthusiasts. We also offer guided hiking and backpacking instruction and trips throughout the Northeast!
If you have them, please bring any personal climbing equipment that you have. This includes shoes, harness, chalk bag, and helmet. If you do not have some/any of these items no worries! We will privide them as rentals at no cost!
If you are interested in learning specific skills during your trip, we will be in touch to discuss what additional equipment to bring with you if you have it! When in doubt, bring any extra equipment that you have, and we can make a final decision to carry it to the cliff when we meet in the morning.

If You Cancel…
If you provide us more than a week notice of cancellation, you are entitled to a 75% refund, or a 75% credit valid for one year.
If you provide us 4-7 days notice of cancellation, you are entitled to a 50% refund, or a 50% credit valid for one year.
If you provide us under 4 days of notice, this will result in no refund or credit.
We understand that stuff happens, so please don’t hesitate to reach out and we will do our best to work with you.
If We Cancel…
Small Cliffs Guiding reserves the right to cancel any trip for weather, safety, or health and wellness reasons. If Small Cliffs Guiding is the one to cancel a trip, you will receive a full refund, or a 100% credit for a future trip.
These policies are in place to protect us and our guides. Guides work other jobs, and accepting guiding work takes them away from other potential work. Cancellation with little notice means that our guide may loose a day of work. These policies are in effect to protect our guides in this eventuality, and still provide pay where applicable for lost work.

Andy and Sam are great guides. They made sure they knew what the participants wanted to get out of the class, and they covered everything. Excellent trip. SCG was communicative in the lead up, and Sam was an excellent guide. His instructing was clear, supportive, and genuinely helpful. I had a great time and walked away feeling more knowledgeable and confident. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone interested!
