Transportation
We will ideally carpool to our selected climbing location.
Extra Water
Make sure to bring plenty of your own water, but just in case there will be extra water provided.
Climbing Rope
Proper Climbing Rope will be provided.
Carabiners
Sets of locking, and non-locking carabiners will be provided.
Cordelette and Webbing
Cordelette and Webbing will be provided for anchors, and other climbing lessons.
Quickdraws
Quickdraws for leading will be provided.
Belay Devices
Belay Devices such as an ATC, and GriGri will be provided for use.
Extra Snacks
Make sure to pack plenty of snacks to keep your body fueled, but there will be extras just in case.
First Aid Kit
A First Aid Kit will be provided at our climbing site for any injuries.
Clothing:
Layers for changing conditions (e.g., light jacket, fleece)
Rain jacket or windbreaker
Climbing-appropriate footwear (approach shoes or sturdy sneakers)
Hat and sunglasses for sun protection
Personal Items:
Daypack to carry personal gear
Water (at least 2 liters)
Snacks and/or lunch
Sunscreen and lip balm with SPF
Personal medications (e.g., inhaler, EpiPen)
Small first aid kit
Camera or smartphone for photos
Climbing Items:
Climbing harness, helmet, and shoes
Chalk bag and chalk (optional)
Belay device and locking carabiner (optional, provided)
Climbing gloves (optional, provided)
Notebook and pen for taking notes
Additional Recommendations:
Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly
Inform someone of your plans and expected return time
Bring a positive attitude and readiness to learn!
