We put our 30+ years of combined experience in the classroom and outdoors to work, ensuring that each program addresses the social, emotional, intellectual, and moral development of our travelers. Our goals for all travelers include:

-
develop a social consciousness- an awareness of our connectedness to others
-
balance individual initiative with community goals
-
assume work roles and social/ cosmic implications

What to bring
Group gear is provided, but we do have limited gear available for rent. See our gear list below for required personal equipment.
Cancellation Policy
All deposit payments for teen adventures are refundable through January 1. Between January 2 and 60 days prior to your trip, deposits are nonrefundable. (If you’ve paid tuition in full and cancel by 60 days prior, you forfeit the $500 deposit.) For cancellations that occur after 60 days prior to your trip, all payments are nonrefundable. If you apply for a trip fewer than 60 days before departure and decide to withdraw the application during the admissions process, the deposit is non-refundable. Crooked Trail Adventures must be notified of all cancellations in writing.
Trip Insurance
Trip insurance is not required by Crooked Trail Adventures, but is highly recommended for all programs.
Program insurance policies can cover a variety of situations, including (but not limited to): illness, injury, evacuation, or emergency medical coverage; travel delay; lost baggage; trip interruption; etc. Most policies require you to purchase coverage within 15 to 21 days of your initial deposit in order to include pre-existing conditions and the additional “cancel for any reason” upgrade (which we highly recommend purchasing). The cost of insurance policies typically ranges from 3–5 percent of the total program cost (policies offered also vary by state).
If interested in learning more about trip insurance, please contact insurance providers directly. A few companies we recommend include Travelex, TravMark, and TripMate—though you’re welcome to use any insurer you prefer.
We try to stay up to date on the latest information, but options may change and calling the insurance providers directly is your best course of action for the latest in trip insurance.
