Duration

10 days

Spend 10 days enjoying Colorado and all its splendor. First we will hike among the pines and wildflowers in and around Rocky Mountain National Park, taking a day to climb Rocky’s iconic granite. Then we’ll head into the backcountry to explore the quiet side of the mountains for 3 days and 2 nights, backpacking among towering walls and sleeping under classic Western skies.

After showering up and taking some time in town, we’ll head south for a hike up one (or three!) of Colorado’s fifty-two 14,000’ peaks. Somehow, we’ll still have time for a service project with a local land management agency, then a white knuckle ride on the Arkansas River, the most popular rafting trip in the US!

This trip truly has everything we love about being in the mountains. Join us for a classic Colorado summer!

Day 1

Your trip begins in Denver, where we’ll pick you up at the airport. Then it’s off to the Indian Peaks Wilderness, with a quick stop in Estes Park.

Days 2-3

Rock climbing in the high country is the ultimate Colorado rush. You’ll learn basic knots and rope skills, as well as challenge yourself on fine Colorado granite. The next day is dedicated to exploring Rocky’s lakes.

Days 4-7

It’s time to go deep into the backcountry as we backpack into remote mountain lakes. Views like ours are worth working for, and work we will! This is consistently ranked as our participants favorite part of the trip.

Days 8-9

It’s time to clean up from backpacking and head south for some rafting on America’s most popular trip- the Arkansas River. Along the way we’ll do some “peak peeking” at some of Colorado’s highest summits.

Day 10

The trip comes to an end with our return to Denver. Don’t be sad, though. There’s always next year!
