This camp is suitable for co-ed teens age 12-18 who are avid indoor gym climbers, who are psyched to advance their outdoor climbing skills. Our typical camper is a kid who climbs recreationally on a regular basis and those who participate on a climbing team at their local indoor gym. What they all share in common is a love for climbing and a desire to gain outdoor climbing experience.

Throughout the week, we'll lay a solid foundation of climbing skills with an emphasis on decision-making skills and sound judgment so that they can transfer their indoor skills to outdoor climbing. Campers will not only learn the what but more importantly, the reason why behind best practices.

  • Outdoor etiquette and ethics
  • Lead climbing (sport)
  • Projecting tactics
  • Crack climbing technique
  • Anchor setup and cleaning
  • Rappelling

Campers will spend the week tent camping in a campground with access to hot showers, flush toilets, and running water. On our rest day, we'll venture out on Summersville Lake on a guided stand-up paddleboarding tour with Mountain Surf. It makes for one awesome action-packed week filled with fun and lots of learning.
