Trip: 4 Hour Nearshore Shark Fishing With Captain Rashad Dawud (copy)

Captain Dawud was on another trip and he had a guy named David fill in for him. (We did not know about this until we arrived) This guy David was 10 minutes late, we spent the first hour and a half catching bait and then we proceeded to ride around and not catch anything for the next couple hours. We got 3 bites, but never got anything to the boat and it was always our fault. David didn’t seem to work very hard, or even apologize for us catching no fish. When we got back I gave him his money and a small tip even though I felt like it wasn’t deserved. He came back a few minutes later cussing at me and saying the tip was bull-sh**t and it was our fault we didn’t catch anything. Super unprofessional! Captain Dawud did arrive about that time and came over and talked to us and apologized for David and said he’s usually not like that. So that was appreciated, but we basically spent $800 to ride around for a couple hours and not catch anything and this guy David who filling in was supper unprofessional and rude. I know you can’t control catching fish, but you can definitely control how you treat the customers . Wish it was a better experience!

Trip: 5 Hour Light Tackle Inshore Fishing Charter with Captain Joe

I have been on many charters and usually go every year. I wasn’t to happy that we beat the guide to the boat that morning and then he had to go get fuel. Left the doc at 7:30 which I understand he said someone used his boat. But tied was down and we went to 2 spots catching bait fish to try and catch a bull or a shark for the fun. When you go fishing I get you are not guaranteed anything. Fishing and hunting is all according to weather but it just didn’t feel like he was prepared for what to catch. Seems to me that a guide should have a really good idea of where and when to fish certain areas and what time according to tide. I own my own business and he worked hard to get us on some sheep head which we caught 6, but if I showed up to work and only had a certain amount of time to regain customers I would be up bright and early and had a game plan of what the day has in store. Just seemed like we winged it. Really nice guy but for $700 and 4 fisherman to catch 8 fish total and can only eat 5 other catfish I would expect so little more results. Maybe it was a bad day but for us it just didn’t seem professional. Staff was really polite though.
